Biographies
James
D. Carlson, Pharm.D.
Founder
Dr.
Carlson co-founded PRACS Institute, Ltd. in 1983 and has
been President and owner since 1990. After receiving his
B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Iowa in 1971, he
went on to be the Director of Pharmacy at U.S.P.H.S. Indian
Health Centers in New Mexico and Oklahoma, as well as an
Instructor in Clinical Pharmacy with Southwest State University
in Weatherford, OK. Upon completing his Doctor of Pharmacy
at the University of Michigan and a Clinical Pharmacy Residency
in Buffalo, NY, he relocated to Fargo, ND as an Assistant
Professor at the College of Pharmacy at North Dakota State
University and Clinical Pharmacy Service Coordinator for
the VA Medical Center. He later became an Associate Professor
at NDSU and served as their Clinical Pharmacy Services Coordinator.
Dr. Carlson left the University in 1986 to focus all his
energy on the development of PRACS Institute. Dr. Carlson
holds current pharmacy licensure in North Dakota and Iowa
and pharmacy research registration in Minnesota. Dr. Carlson
is a member of numerous pharmaceutical professional organizations
and has over 70 publications, including articles, abstracts,
and book chapters.

Alan
K. Copa, Pharm. D.
President, Clinical & Bioanalytical Operations
Upon
completion of his B.S. in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy
from the University of Minnesota, Dr. Copa completed a two-year
fellowship in Cardiovascular Research and Critical Care
Medicine through the University of Minnesota College of
Pharmacy. In 1988, he worked at Methodist Hospital of Indiana,
Inc. as a Clinical Pharmacist in Critical Care Medicine
and Cardiology. During his tenure there, Dr.Copa served
as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at
Purdue University School of Pharmacy and at Butler College
of Pharmacy. In 1992, Dr. Copa relocated to Fargo, ND, where
he joined Dakota Hospital as Medical Affiliate Staff and
served as an Associate Professor at North Dakota State College
of Pharmacy. He joined PRACS Institute shortly thereafter
as the Clinical Study Coordinator. From 1996 to 2003, Dr.
Copa served PRACS Institute as Director of Clinical Research
before accepting the position of Vice President, Clinical
& Bioanalytical Operations in 2003. Dr. Copa holds current
pharmacy licensure in North Dakota and Minnesota. He is
a member of numerous professional organizations, including
the American College of Clinical Pharmacology and the American
Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. Dr. Copa has authored
several publications and presentations.

Thomas
J. Franz, M.D.
Executive
Medical Director, Clinical Dermatology
Dr.
Franz has over 30 years of academic and industry experience
in dermatologic research. His prior appointments include
Consulting Medical Officer at FDA's Division of Topical
Drug Products at the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research
(CDER), Professor at the Department of Dermatology, University
of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and Associate Professor,
Department of Medicine, Division of Dermatology at the
University of Washington School of Medicine. Dr. Franz
was previously Vice President, Clinical Research in Dermatology,
at Connetics Corporation, Vice President, Research and
Development, at Hercon Laboratories and held management
positions at Hoffmann LaRoche, Johnson & Johnson,
and Procter and Gamble. Dr. Franz received his B.S. degree
from the University of Portland, his M.S. in Biochemistry
and M.D. from the University of Oregon Medical School.

Anthony
Godfrey, PharmD
Director, Clinical Research
Dr.
Godfrey joined the PRACS Institute clinical research team
in 1999 and is one of the lead architects of the company’s
process to computerize research data acquisition and data
management for Midwest operations. He is a Certified Clinical
Research Coordinator and member of the Association of
Clinical Research Professionals, the American College
of Clinical Pharmacology, Drug Information Association,
American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, the
American Pharmacists Association and the North Dakota
Pharmacists Association. Prior to joining PRACS Institute,
Dr. Godfrey held the position of Senior Pharmacist at
ShopKo Pharmacy in Kingsford, Michigan, and was Pharmacy
Manager at Osco Drug in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Dr.
Godfrey holds current pharmacy licensure in North Dakota
and Drug Researcher registration in Minnesota. He received
his Bachelors Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Doctor
of Pharmacy from North Dakota State University.

Thomas
E. Ary, Ph.D.
Director, Quality Assurance
Dr.
Ary has served as the Director of Quality Assurance since
1996. He obtained his B.S. in Pharmacy and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical
Sciences from Washington State University in Pullman,
WA. He relocated to the University of Alberta in Edmonton,
Alberta, Canada, as recipient of the Alberta Heritage
Foundation Medical Research Fellowship for three years
before taking a position as Research Assistant Professor
of Physiology at the University of Nevada, Reno, NV. In
1987, Dr. Ary joined the faculty of the College of Pharmacy
at Idaho State University in Pocatello, as Assistant Professor
of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He assumed the post of Vice
President of Operations for the Brain Tumor Research Program
at ISU in 1988. Before he joined the team at PRACS Institute,
Dr. Ary worked as an Assistant Professor at the College
of Pharmacy at North Dakota State University. He holds
current pharmacy licensure in North Dakota and Washington
and pharmacy research registration in Minnesota. He has
authored many articles and abstracts in the field of Pharmaceutical
Sciences.

Ardeshir
Khadang, B.S.
Director, Bioanalytical Services
With
over 15 years of experience in the Bioanalytical field,
Mr. Khadang provides overall direction of the Bioanalytical
Division, offering hands on leadership in the areas of
method development, method validation and production of
analytical samples. Prior to joining PRACS, Mr. Khadang
held several positions at Huntington Life Sciences, including
Head of Bioanalytical Sciences, Associate Director and
most recently, Director. He has developed over 300 LC/MS-MS
methods and authored several publications. Mr. Khadang
received his B.S. in Analytical Chemistry from Concordia
University in Montreal, Quebec.

Kevin
Soiseth
Director, Scientific Affairs
Mr.
Soiseth joined PRACS in November of 2005 as the Director
of Scientific Affairs. He earned his Masters Degree in Microbiology
and MBA from North Dakota State University, in Fargo, ND.
In addition, he completed the Executive Development Program
at JFK School of Government in Cambridge, MA. Mr. Soiseth
has served as the Director of Quality Operations for Bone
Care International and more recently was the President and
owner of Virtual Quality Support Services, Ltd., both in
Madison, WI. As the Director of Scientific Affairs, Mr.
Soiseth is responsible for the general oversight of in-house
protocol development, client protocol development, statistical
data analysis reports, medical writing and electronic reporting.

Paul
A. Lehman, M.S.
Director of Clinical and Pre-Clinical Dermatology
Paul
Lehman has conducted internationally-recognized research
in the field of topical pharmacokinetics and topical bioequivalence
for over 20 years. He received his BA in Biology and Bachelor
of Business Administration from Incarnate Word College
in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Lehman later received his MS
degree in Pharmaceutics at the University of Washington
in Seattle. Mr. Lehman has held faculty appointments at
both the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and
at the University of Washington. In addition, he worked
for two years at the National Center for Toxicological
Research (FDA) in Jefferson, Arkansas. Mr. Lehman has
been an integral partner with Dr. Thomas Franz in the
conduct of in vitro and in vivo topical pharmacokinetics
and the development and validation of dermatopharmacokinetic
bioequivalence methods for topical formulations.

Craig
Sprenger, M.D.
Medical Investigator
Dr.
Sprenger joined PRACS Institute Ltd in October 2002 as a
Medical Investigator. He earned his medical degree from
the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND and completed
his residency training in Internal Medicine at the University
of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN. He practiced medicine at
MeritCare Clinic and Hospital in Fargo prior to joining
PRACS Institute Ltd and was on the faculty of UND School
of Medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine.
He is board Certified by the American Board of Internal
Medicine, and is a member of the North Dakota Medical Society.

Gregory Haugen, M.D.
Medical Investigator
Dr. Haugen joined PRACS Institute Ltd in January 2008 as a Medical Investigator. He earned his medical degree from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND and completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine at Michigan State University/Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies in Kalamazoo, MI. He practiced emergency medicine at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo prior to joining PRACS Institute Ltd. and was a Flight Surgeon with the North Dakota Air National Guard. He is board Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, and is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, Aerospace Medicine Association, Society of United States Air Force Flight Surgeons, and Association of Military Surgeons of the United States.

Robert Cooper, M.D.
Medical Investigator
Dr. Cooper has served as a medical investigator for PRACS Institute - Cetero Research, Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service at the Fargo VA hospital, Medical Director for Workforce, Safety and Insurance, and held a private practice in Fargo, ND. He received an MBBS from St. George's Hospital Medical School of London University, UK, and has a North Dakota Medical License.

Kimberly Glidden, CPA, MBA
Director, Finance
Ms. Glidden joined PRACS in June of 2007. She earned a Masters in Strategic Management from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and a Bachelors of Accountancy from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. She holds a Certified Public Accounting licensure in the State of North Dakota. Ms. Glidden has over twenty years of experience, including ten years in Controller roles. Her most recent positions were with a multi-entity real estate investment firm and a multi-entity construction organization. As the Director of Finance, Ms. Glidden is responsible for the oversight and internal controls surrounding the processing of all financial transactions and the analysis of the financial results produced by the organization.

Donette Peterson, SPHR
Director, Human Resources
Ms Peterson joined Cetero Research in June of 2008. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Criminal Justice. She earned her Senior Professional in Human Resources certification in December of 2003. Ms Peterson has over 25 years of experience in all areas of human resource management. Her most recent position was with a multi state retailer. As the Director of Human Resources, Ms Peterson is responsible for leading the HR team in responding to issues in the areas of recruitment, employment, benefits and training.
