Our East Grand Forks site opened in 2000 and was designed and created by PRACS Institute, Ltd. The facilities and staff accommodate about 100-115 projects annually in study sizes ranging from 6 to 120 participants per study. The East Grand Forks metro-area population is approximately 115,000 people with a regional college age population of about 18,000 students. The population is comparable to the Fargo group which represents typical Midwesterners with a friendly attitude and a reliable demeanor. Since its inception, the East Grand Forks site has been an extension of the clean, reliable study participants which have represented the Fargo site since 1983. Efficient, trained, responsible staff
The original East Grand Forks staff were trained in the Fargo facility to assure consistency in study procedures between the two sites. The staff at both facilities follows the same standard operating procedures and training manuals. The team approach to study project organization and management is active throughout our organization. Teleconferencing is readily available for all staff meetings to enhance communication between study teams and operational teams. Pharmacists and nurses serve as Clinical Coordinators with responsibility to their Team Leaders and team members. This employee model assures the principles of research ethics and fundamentals of clinical pharmacology are applied to all study activities. All staff from the East Grand Forks and Fargo facilities meet jointly via teleconference each week to review our study calendar, discuss project management, study progress reviews, study timeliness and related research concerns. Experienced senior staff and invited guests provide continuing education seminars on regulatory issues, research study design, the consent process, and current industry events. PRACS has also sponsored national speakers to address staff locally on issues related to the clinical research certification process. The East Grand Forks, MN facility:
